About the sequential revision of the plastic free package

I have a report for you all about the package.

To put it simply, we used a plastic-free package in consideration of the environment, but we will gradually change the specification to use a plastic bag.

This is an announcement. Below are more details on why.

What kind of packages have you used so far?

At ITSUKI, the entire product is wrapped in recycled paper and sealed with a sticker. The official online store has also delivered it in a paper envelope (with outer coating). It is as environmentally friendly as possible.

These packages are not only intended to be environmentally friendly, but when you buy something, some of the things you receive will quickly become unnecessary and will be thrown away. Looking at this from a microscopic perspective, neither the customer nor I, the creator, feel "good." It may be a minor "discomfort", but it also included the desire to get rid of it as much as possible.

Trouble and its cause

Did you know that there is an ant called "Luriari" that nests between paper such as tissues and kitchen paper?

The luria ants seem to be a widely distributed species, and if you search for "luria ants" on Twitter, you will find that they often occur in private houses.

As many of you may have guessed from the flow up to this point, ITSUKI's products have been damaged by pests of "Luriari".

Measures to cover products with plastic bags one by one

First of all, we would like to once again sincerely apologize to the customers who were affected. It was due to our lack of management, and we sincerely apologize for the customer's feelings.

In addition, I am forever grateful for your generosity in understanding the pest damage and for cooperating with the survey.

ITSUKI implements the following three pest damage countermeasures to prevent recurrence.

 1. Strict inspection
Just before shipping, we check visually whether there is any abnormality in the paper package more strictly.
 2. Countermeasures against ants
Because it is difficult to identify the place of occurrence of the blue ant, it is a species that inhabits a wide area.
 3. We will use plastic bags on the outside of the paper packages from the new arrivals from the end of October 2022. *For products that have not yet used plastic bags, we will ask our affiliated warehouses to inspect them with even greater care.

Most of the options use plastic for packaging, and while it has a cost advantage, choosing and making packaging that tends to be costly and environmentally friendly, such as using recycled paper, is not a needle hole. It was like threading a thread, and that was the part I was particular about.

It is embarrassing to end up covering such a package with a plastic bag, but we came to this decision in order to deliver the product to our customers in the best possible condition.

We hope that everyone who purchases ITSUKI's products will understand the package revisions that will change in the future.
