Care Instructions for Silk/Silk Cotton Fabrics
Introduction
ITSUKI products use natural materials that are gentle on hair and skin: "silk" and "silk cotton."
These "silk" and "silk cotton" fabrics are special materials not commonly found in our daily lives.
This time, we will introduce how to care for them.
Basic Care
For Hand Washing
-Water temperature below 30°C (cold to lukewarm water)
-Use a neutral detergent (detergent for delicate clothes is recommended)
-Gently press wash (avoid rubbing or scrubbing)
For Machine Washing
- Place in a laundry net and wash for a short time on a gentle cycle such as "hand wash course"
- We recommend a gentle and short spin cycle
Drying Tips
-After gently removing excess water with a towel, reshape and air dry naturally
-Hang in a well-ventilated shaded area, away from direct sunlight
When You Want Easy Care...
Silk cotton fabric is surprisingly durable. Even if you use a washing machine and dryer, the texture is unlikely to be significantly damaged.
"For longer-lasting beauty, follow the basic care instructions."
"If ease is a priority, using a net + washing machine + dryer is also an option."
We recommend switching between methods as needed.
Please note that for 100% silk fabric, hand washing is generally recommended. If machine washing, always use a net and wash separately from other laundry. And absolutely do not use a dryer, as it will cause shrinkage.
About Washing Frequency
Pillowcases
Pillowcases tend to accumulate sweat and sebum, so washing every 2-3 days is ideal.
In summer, it's fine to wash daily. Frequent washing can also help prevent skin problems. If you notice that the effect of preventing bedhead has diminished recently, wash it first.
Nightcaps
Nightcaps should be washed once or twice a week. If you tend to forget, care for it at the same time as your pajamas.
If you've used hair styling products or sweated, it's recommended to wash it sooner.
Things to Avoid
- Using chlorine bleach
- Washing with hot water or at high temperatures
- Strong spin-drying or rubbing
- Putting 100% silk fabric in a dryer
Storage
- Make sure it's completely dry before storing
- Store in a low-humidity environment
- For long-term storage, using mothballs provides peace of mind

This time, we've summarized ideal care methods and frequencies.
Do what you can in your daily care to achieve comfortable sleep.
