Keibunsha | A store for everything related to books
About Keibunsha
Founded in 1975 in Ichijoji, Kyoto. More than just a bookstore, Keibunsha offers "everything related to books" that enriches daily life.
With a unique selection process, books, miscellaneous goods, and handicrafts are curated within a single context, offering a spatial experience.
Currently, with the addition of "Seikatsukan" (Lifestyle Building) and a "Gallery," Keibunsha continues to broadly showcase books and the lifestyle items connected to them.
Keibunsha Official Website
Living in Osaka, Keibunsha often crosses my mind when I visit Kyoto.
Will I be able to stop by Keibunsha while I'm there?
Book lovers are always drawn to bookstores, but Keibunsha is one of those stores that truly excites me.
For me, it's not so much about finding a book I'm looking for, but rather about discovering new books I never knew existed.
You can get a glimpse of the types of books they carry from the book category on Keibunsha's online shop.
And Keibunsha also has a wide array of goods other than books.
As described in the introduction to their "Seikatsukan" (Lifestyle Building), they "propose books related to life, centered on clothing, food, and housing, along with lifestyle goods connected to them." True to their word, you'll find everything from pin badges and masking tape to bags and shoes alongside books.
This time, in a corner of the Seikatsukan, ITSUKI items, which are rooted in lifestyle and sleep, will be on display for a limited time.

ITSUKI
About ITSUKI
ITSUKI was launched in 2019 as a brand that creates the ideal nightcap for designers. With completely original designs and a structure that enhances functionality by combining natural materials like silk and cotton,
we continue to produce not only nightcaps, but also pillowcases, blankets, and more.To the brand ABOUT page
For this POP-UP, we will have almost all of ITSUKI's lineup available for viewing, including nightcaps, pillowcases, scarves, scrunchies, and blankets...
Of course, you can also see the grid pattern series reimagined by graphic designer Eriko Kawakami.
The luster of the silk used in nightcaps and scarves, and the soft feel of the cotton blankets. While we usually introduce them through a screen, we look forward to this opportunity for you to experience the items firsthand and see them with your own eyes.
March is a busy month, cold one moment and warm the next.
When it's cold, blankets are perfect companions for reading at home, and nightcaps protect your head, neck, and shoulders from the cold while you sleep.
As spring approaches, we recommend pillowcases that are comfortable year-round and protect your hair and skin from friction during sleep, and scarves that can be used for outings.

Finally. Ichijoji is a wonderful (and delicious) town.
After books and miscellaneous goods, what I associate with Keibunsha are bread and cakes.
I recommend the cakes from "Gâteau Mont Blanc" next to Keibunsha. It's a very retro shop, and everything is reasonably priced and delicious.
There are many bakeries in Ichijoji, but "Banchi no Hare" is close to Keibunsha. I haven't been there myself, but it seems to be a delicious bakery recommended by many people. I plan to try it when I go for setup.
Please do visit Keibunsha in Ichijoji for ITSUKI items or books. And let's enjoy some delicious food while we're there!
